Residential elevators

How a pneumatic elevator works

Updated: 27-08-2024

A pneumatic elevator is a type of elevator designed to meet the needs of a conventional elevator but in a single-family house, with higher performance. It works by means of a transparent cylindrical tube and a suction assembly. It is not very large and is even aesthetically pleasing.

Operation of a pneumatic elevator

On the rise

The suction assembly creates a vacuum at the top of the tube, generating a pressure difference that “sucks” the cabin upwards.

In the descent

Air is allowed to enter at the top and air is released at the bottom of the tube, allowing a controlled descent of the cabin using gravity.

Advantages of a pneumatic elevator

  • Easy installation with no need for construction work or machine room.
  • Eco-technological and environmentally friendly.
  • Removable and suitable for multiple uses, as it is not a fixed installation.
  • Panoramic design with 360º view.
  • Minimal maintenance and no lubrication required.
  • Energy savings during descent.
  • It weighs little and the cab always stops at the exact level.
  • Starting and braking are very smooth.
  • It is suitable for any use (residential, commercial, public or institutional).
  • They improve accessibility in the home in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
