Residential elevators

Single-family or residential elevator maintenance, minimum consumption and competitive price

Updated: 22-08-2024

To understand the maintenance of a single-family vacuum elevator, we must understand the differences between a pneumatic elevator and a traditional one. The main difference is in the application directive for lifting machines.

The difference is marked by the speed regulation, and divides the elevators in two types; those with speed higher than 0.15m/s and those with speed lower than 0.15 m/s. This situation brings associated specifications in the periodicity of maintenance; aspect that directly affects the cost of this.

How often are Wolair single-family elevators serviced?

Wolair single-family elevators belong to the reduced speed group with elevator maintenance checks every 4 months. On the other hand, there are elevators with speed higher than 0.15 m/s, which have to be checked monthly (with some exceptions where the check will be every 6 weeks).

In the case of a single-family house, a traditional elevator would involve too many costs for a family; in addition to the need to meet multiple requirements in terms of shaft. The revisions of the Wolair single-family elevators are always carried out by a specialized technician of the company, who will spend the necessary time, even when it takes more than 30 – 40 minutes. All this allows us to make the maintenance of our elevators especially recommendable for single-family homes.

Advantages of installing a Wolair pneumatic vacuum lifter for maintenance purposes

  • The simplicity of our technology, which does not require any machinery such as pulleys, cables, counterweights, hydraulic pistons, etc.
  • It does not require a pit or machine room to be accessed. Thanks to its self-supporting structure, it is installed directly on the existing floor of the house.
  • Unlike other traditional elevators, the pneumatic elevator does not use oil or grease for its operation.

Operation of the pneumatic elevator: what is the traction system like?

The traction system of the pneumatic elevator is air, a column of atmospheric pressure that pushes the cabin as if it were a piston; resulting from the difference in pressure exerted above the seal located at the top of the cabin.

For this reason, the pneumatic elevator not only does not require grease or oil to be recycled as in the case of hydraulic elevators, but it also does not need to replace certain wear and tear parts such as guides, cables, etc., which also entail a cost.
